At Tree of Life midwifery care means more than just clinical expertise - it means whole person care rooted in respect, partnership and trust.

At Tree of Life our staff is composed of Certified Nurse Midwives and Licensed Midwives. We combine the wisdom of traditional midwifery with the safety of modern evidence-based medicine to provide deeply personalized care.

Our CNMs offer comprehensive care to women throughout the lifespan - from the first period, to pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and menopause.

Our Licensed Midwives (LM) have extensive knowledge on low-risk physiological birth. Although trained to manage obstetrical emergencies, the focus is on supporting the natural birth process and holding space for families to feel safe and empowered.

We believe pregnancy and birth are normal pysiological events that need to be supported - not controlled. Our midwives are the Guardians of your birth providing a safe space to birth your baby.

Imagine a birth experience where we, your dedicated midwives, are here to provide the tools, guidance, and support you need to bring your vision to life.

What to Expect with Midwifery Care:

Personalized Care:

We follow ACOG Guidelines for monthly appointments until 28 weeks, then twice a month up to 36 weeks, and then weekly until delivery. At the Birth Center we have longer appointment times than OB’s in order to educate you on the birth process, teach coping skills and exercises for optimal positioning, and walk you through newborn care and feeding.

Holistic Pregnancy & Birth Support:

Our care extends beyond the physical, addressing your emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being throughout your pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period.

We don’t just care about normal vitals and checking boxes, we believe nurturing the whole family throughout pregnancy supports positive birth outcomes and the transition into Motherhood and Fatherhood that creates healthy communities.

True Informed Consent:

One-on one-care means making you the expert of your body and your choices! We will give you the tools and resources to decide what you want for your birth and your baby with evidence-based, holistic midwifery. Waterbirth, delayed cord clamping, baby on mother’s chest, and partner participation are just some of our everyday practices

Safety First:

We have all the same emergency equipment as the hospital, and you are not putting yourself at any risk birthing at a birth center. We just use them less often because we do all the things to support the natural birth process, not control it! Our transferring hospital is 9 minutes away, very supportive of our families, and we have a strong working relationship with the OB staff.
